As any parent knows, it’s rare to find an outing that genuinely entertains both children and adults. More often than not, most family outings are designed for one side of the equation — either the kids are thrilled while the adults are politely pretending to enjoy themselves, or the adults are finally having a good time while their kids spiral into boredom.
Finding a place that truly caters to everyone is rare, but every once in a while, you stumble upon something that hits the sweet spot. In this case, we found the family outing equivalent of a hole-in-one.

Introducing Family Sessions at Swingers, the crazy golf club — a venue that’s cracked the code by welcoming families and guests under 21 on designated dates and times. With a brilliant mix of crazy golf, elevated street food, Carnival games (only at DC and Las Vegas locations), and even a few cocktail bars.

A few years ago, my husband and I had a date night at Swingers and had an absolute blast — great cocktails, playful competition, and the kind of fun that feels just a little bit unexpected in the best way. So when I heard they were hosting our family for a Family Session, I was cautiously optimistic. After all, transforming a trendy, grown-up venue into a kid-friendly experience isn’t always seamless. I’m happy to report it worked very well.

We arrived around 2:00 PM and found a moderate crowd filled with adult friend groups and families. The moment we stepped inside, we saw it was an underground world of undulating crazy golf courses and a 1920s English clubhouse packed with creative obstacles and challenges. After checking in, we received our tee time and were guided to our table to grab lunch before golfing.
The menu was a list of kid-friendly cuisine's greatest hits: chicken tenders, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, tacos, guacamole, tortilla chips, fries, and pizza. Naturally, we ordered everything in sight.
My daughters (ages 11 and 7) felt especially fancy sipping frozen strawberry mint lemonades. My two budding food critics gave the food two thumbs up.
And for the grown-ups? The full bar offers handcrafted cocktails, if you’d like to add a little “parenting fuel” to your fun day.

After lunch we hit the course for our 9-hole crazy golf adventure. My family is casually competitive, so we were ready.
Each hole was more creative than the last, offering just enough challenge to keep things interesting, but not so hard that anyone ended up in a bunker of frustration. Bonus: you don’t have to pause the fun to grab a drink, just order with the waiter while on the course.
A nostalgic part of the day was the Carnival games, which are offered only at the DC and Las Vegas locations. We’re talking Whack-a-Mole, claw machines, water blast, basketball, bean bag toss, and roll-a-ball — all the classics that bring out your inner child. There was so much laughter, a little friendly trash talk, and a lot of “one more round!” moments.

To end our day of family fun, we posed for a few silly pictures at the photo booth and redeemed our hard-earned tickets for prizes.
It was the kind of day parents dream about — no one asked for an iPad, no one disappeared into a screen, there were zero tears, and not a single request to leave early. If that’s not the gold standard for a successful family outing, I don’t know what is.
If you're searching for a weekend outing that doesn’t feel like a compromise — where the kids are entertained, the adults are relaxed, and everyone leaves smiling — Swingers, the crazy golf club is worth a visit.
Family Sessions at Swingers prove that fun doesn’t have to be one sided. Find your local Swingers and book a round of crazy golf for you and the family!
